xAI launches Grok Voice 3.0 with sub-second full-duplex speech at $0.08 per minute

Grok Voice 3.0 is end-to-end speech-to-speech rather than a pipeline of speech recognition, an LLM and text-to-speech. That design enables natural turn-taking, real-time interruptions and sub-second latency. The 97.0% Full Duplex Bench score measures how well it handles overlapping speech, the hardest part of making voice agents feel human.
Pricing is the competitive lever. A flat $0.08 per minute with no price increase over 2.0 makes cost predictable for contact centers. Developers are comparing it with OpenAI's realtime voice models and Google's live APIs for support workloads. Deployments at Tesla and Starlink give xAI a credible production story.
xAI also launched a new X Subscription bundling Grok, Cursor and X Premium across five tiers from $8 to $200 per month. That is a separate consumer move.
Caveats: benchmark leadership is self-reported via third-party indices, and real contact-center results vary with accents, noise and integration. Watch for enterprise customers beyond Musk-affiliated companies.
