Google unveils Gemini Agent, a universal workplace agent for Workspace, Slack and Microsoft 365

Sundar Pichai presented Gemini Agent to more than 700 Google Cloud customers at NASA's Hangar One, describing it as a single agent that has a company's full business context.

It runs in the cloud as a persistent agent and can split complex workflows across sub-agents.

By integrating directly with Microsoft 365, Google is competing for the same enterprise customers Microsoft is targeting with Copilot Autopilot.

TechTarget reports that enterprises remain skeptical about its data access, governance, cost control and integration complexity.
