OpenAI unveils MRC open networking protocol for 100k+ GPU training clusters

OpenAI introduced Multipath Reliable Connection (MRC), a new open networking protocol co-developed with AMD, Broadcom, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. MRC spreads packets across hundreds of paths simultaneously and recovers from network failures in microseconds, targeting supercomputers training models at 100k+ GPU scale.
