Armstrong had been credited with steering X back toward financial stability following advertiser exodus. Separately, xAI filed in Colorado federal court to block a new state AI law, claiming the statute 'severely burdens' AI development and threatens Grok's operations. Grok 5, planned as a 6-trillion-parameter Mixture-of-Experts model, missed its Q1 2026 target and is now scheduled for Q2 2026.
