Microsoft Launches AI Foundry Agent Service with Multi-Agent Orchestration

Microsoft announced general availability of Azure AI Foundry Agent Service, enabling developers to build, deploy, and scale multi-agent AI systems using an OpenAI-compatible API. The service supports agent handoffs, shared memory, and tool use across heterogeneous model backends including GPT-4.1, Phi-4, and third-party models, with native integration to Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate.
