Apple ships an Intelligent Assistant beta for Pages, Keynote and Numbers, then pulls the update

The beta brought an in-document assistant to Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Subscribers could ask it to draft sections, rewrite passages, restructure slides or pull real-time search results into documents with natural-language commands. It was limited to Apple Creator Studio subscribers on iOS 27 or later, in US English.
Then it disappeared. Apple pulled the update shortly after it shipped, and the sources do not give a reason. A fast withdrawal usually means a stability bug, a data-handling issue, or output quality that did not meet Apple's bar. Any of these would be notable given Apple's emphasis on privacy and polish.
The stumble comes during an otherwise strong AI push. macOS 27 'Golden Gate' delivers a conversational Siri that understands personal and onscreen context, and the new Apple TV 4K builds in Siri with Private Cloud Compute. Productivity is where Apple competes directly with Microsoft Copilot and Google's Gemini in Workspace, both of which already ship mature document assistants. A pulled beta gives those rivals an easy talking point.
Watch for a re-release and its changelog, which should reveal what went wrong, and whether the feature stays behind the Creator Studio paywall. Apple stock is up 27% in 2026 on cash flow and foldable iPhone demand, so investors are unlikely to react much to a single beta. Developers, however, will judge Apple's AI execution partly by how quickly this comes back.
