Siri AI faces a further five-month delay for EU iPhone users

Apple's new Siri AI, which combines personal context, onscreen awareness and web knowledge in iOS 27, will remain unavailable to EU iPhone and iPad users for at least five more months. Mobile personal-context scanning and cross-app agent execution remain paused in EU jurisdictions due to ongoing regulatory reviews, though Mac users retain desktop access.
Outside the EU, Apple is expanding the assistant beyond English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish due in October.
The delay underscores how agent features that read across apps collide with EU rules on data and competition. It mirrors OpenAI's EU-specific watermarking and other region-specific launches this week.
Watch whether Apple ships a reduced EU version and how regulators respond to cross-app agents generally.
