Meta's next-gen Andromeda ads retrieval co-designs model, system and GPU hardware

Meta Engineering describes how Andromeda moved beyond cheap first-stage retrieval. It now applies near ranking-level models to every eligible ad.

The gains come from co-designing the model architecture, the serving stack and GPU kernels together. This is the money engine that funds Meta's AI capex, which this week included a $97.5B equity raise.

Caveat: Meta reports gains in efficiency and quality but did not publish revenue impact.
