AWS Transform continuous modernization reached general availability across all supported regions. The service connects to GitHub organizations, GitLab groups, and Bitbucket workspaces and autonomously analyzes source repositories to identify and remediate technical debt at scale. Teams can trigger analyses on demand or on a recurring schedule and prioritize findings, moving code modernization from episodic manual projects toward continuous, agent-driven maintenance.

The GA fits a broad AWS agentic push this week. AWS also announced that Bedrock AgentCore helped Formula 1 cut data-source onboarding from up to eight weeks to about 40 minutes via a Data Accelerator, shipped an Apache Spark troubleshooting agent for EMR on EKS, introduced Agent Skills for Amazon MSK to streamline Kafka operations and migrations, and made offline schema transformation GA for Windows/SQL-Server-to-Aurora-PostgreSQL modernization. Together they position agents as operational tooling across the AWS stack rather than just chat interfaces.

Competitive context: autonomous tech-debt remediation competes directly with GitHub Copilot's agentic ambitions (now MAI-powered) and a crowd of startups automating code migration. AWS's advantage is deep integration with its own services and the ability to tie modernization directly into deployment pipelines and databases.
