Mistral pitches sovereign cyber AI to European banks as Anthropic Mythos alternative; Medium 3.5 Vision ships

Mistral AI is in talks with European banks about a cybersecurity-focused AI model positioned as a sovereign, lower-risk alternative to Anthropic's Mythos — which European financial institutions largely cannot access. CEO Arthur Mensch separately told French Parliament that 'engineers at Mistral no longer write a single line of code,' and warned French authorities against letting US models scan military codebases. Mistral also released Medium 3.5 Vision, a 128B-parameter model claimed to match systems 6x its size.
