Apple Intelligence comes to China in December on Alibaba Qwen, without Siri AI

Regulatory clearance lets Qwen and Tongyi Wanxiang power writing tools, photo cleanup and translation for Apple Intelligence in China. A late-October beta is reported.

Siri AI's absence means Chinese users won't get the onscreen-perception features Apple showcased on the iPhone Duo.

The partnership also deepens Alibaba's consumer push. Alibaba unveiled Qwen Glasses N1, which use Himax always-on vision chips.
