Anthropic launches Claude for Financial Advisors with BlackRock, Schwab connectors

Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors, an AI suite designed to help advisors with research, meeting preparation, portfolio analysis, documentation, and compliance checks. The product's differentiator is its 'connectors' — pre-built integrations with custodians, asset managers, and wealth-technology providers, with BlackRock and Charles Schwab named among launch partners. It is currently available through Anthropic's Enterprise plans and targeted at registered investment advisors (RIAs).
The move extends Anthropic's enterprise verticalization strategy: rather than selling a generic model, it packages Claude with domain-specific workflows and data integrations for a regulated, high-value industry. Wealth management is an attractive beachhead — advisors spend heavily on research and compliance overhead, both areas where a capable language model with authorized data access can compress hours of work, and where the connector approach addresses the data-governance concerns that keep financial firms cautious about generative AI.
Competitively, this pits Claude against Microsoft's Copilot (now also embedding Claude in 365) and a raft of fintech-specific AI tools, and it lands the same week AWS emphasized regulated-industry deployments like Ninth Wave's Bedrock-based open-finance onboarding. Anthropic's enterprise push also runs in parallel with reports of a possible 2026 IPO — a vertical, revenue-generating product strengthens that narrative.
What to watch: how compliance-grade the audit trails and controls actually are for a regulated advisory setting, whether more custodians and asset managers join the connector ecosystem, and whether advisors trust model output enough to fold it into client-facing deliverables.
