Samsung One UI 9 brings agentic Gemini Intelligence to Galaxy phones

Samsung began rolling out One UI 9 to millions of Galaxy phones, with the marquee feature being 'Gemini Intelligence,' an agentic AI layer arriving first on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in July. Unlike a passive assistant, the feature is designed to handle multi-step tasks autonomously — booking tickets, building Amazon shopping carts, and drafting email replies — pushing agentic AI to consumer mobile at scale.

The Gemini dependency is the throughline of the week's device news: paired with Apple's Gemini-powered Siri overhaul, Google is quietly becoming the model layer beneath both major smartphone platforms even as its own consumer-app ambitions face talent-exodus headlines.
