Galaxy S26 Ultra tops Consumer Reports; Gauss AI moves on-device

Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra took the top global Consumer Reports spot for the third consecutive year, combining the ProVisual Engine with Galaxy AI (translation, writing, summarization) and new agentic features. Samsung's Noida R&D center is moving more of the Gauss AI model on-device for privacy and latency, with One UI 8.5 rolling out to S25 users from April 30 with strengthened Theft Protection and Auto Blocker.
